How to Delete or Deactivate Threads Account

If you’ve created Multiple Accounts on Threads but you don’t like it and want to delete or deactivate it, today’s post is just for you. Threads is a new social media platform in the market, emerging as the main competitor to Twitter. Within a few hours, it has swiftly replaced Twitter on the phones of millions of people.

Dear Threads user, this app is linked to your main Instagram account. Without Instagram, you won’t be able to create a Threads account. Therefore, when you wish to delete a Threads account, you must delete your primary Instagram account. Let’s delve into how you can delete and deactivate your account on Threads.

Note: Remember, deleting your Threads accounts will also delete your Instagram account which is a permanent action. Please make sure you are certain before proceeding with the deletion process.

How to Delete Threads Account

Step 1. Open the Threads app > Tap on the Profile icon > Click on the Settings (Hamburger Menu) icons.

Step 2. Select the Account option.

Step 3. Tap on “Other account settings“. It will redirect to your Instagram settings page.

Step 4. Click on “See more in Account Center” for additional settings.

Step 5. Under Account Settings, select Personal Details.

Step 6. Tap on “Account ownership and control.”

Step 7. Choose “Deactivation or Deletion.”

Step 8. Select the Instagram profile associated with your Threads account.

Step 9. Choose “Delete Account” and click on the blue Continue button.

Step 10. Select the reason for deleting your Instagram account and continue.

Step 11. For security reasons, enter your Instagram profile password and tap on the continue button.

Step 12. Instagram will confirm the permanent deletion of your Threads account. Tap on “Delete Account” to remove it permanently.

How to Deactivate Threads Account

Step 1. Open the Threads app on your smartphone and go to your Profile. After that Click on the Settings icon.

Step 2. Select the Account option from the settings section.

Step 3. Tap on Deactivate Profile.

Step 4. On the next screen, read the message “Are you sure you want to deactivate your Threads Profile?” and click on the “Deactivate Threads Profile” button to temporarily deactivate your Threads account.

Step 5. Confirm your decision by clicking on “Deactivate.”

That’s it! By following these steps, you can temporarily deactivate your Threads profile once a week. Deactivating your Threads profile hides your profile and content from being visible on Threads.
