Apple has added many new features in iOS 16 and also added a search button on the home screen of iPhones. In my opinion, it’s just an unnecessary distraction that Apple added for no reason. If you want to remove search button from the home screen, you have come to the right place.
Apple has always allowed you to find your iPhone by swiping down anywhere on the home screen, and iOS 16 is no different. If you don’t like this new addition it can be turned off and you can turn on the dots showing how many active pages there are on the home screen.
Hide or Remove Search Button from Home Screen
On iOS, you can find almost anything with Spotlight Search, which can be accessed from both the home screen and lock screen. Spotlight search is easy to use, but Apple decided to add a search button to the home screen at the top of the dock to make it easier for new iPhone users.
You will always see the button and it will replace the dots showing the number of active home screen pages. Follow these steps to remove Search button from the Home screen,
- On your iPhone Open Settings.
- Click on Home Screen.
- Under Search Section, Toggle off the “Show on Home Screen” option.
- Finally, you can see this search button is removed from your iPhone Home Screen.
Simply swipe through the Home Screen pages or long press to access the Home Screen editing menu to restore the Home Screen points.
