- The model number can be found on the back of your iPad or in the Settings app.
Did you buy a used iPad and now you’re thinking, “What iPad do I have?” If so, you’re in the right place. Recent iPad models have similar designs, so it’s difficult to identify them easily.
In this article, I’ll show you how to find your iPad model. This simple but crucial info will help you identify your device and learn more about it. Let’s dive in!
How to Find iPad Model Number
If you know the model number of your tablet, you can find out exactly which iPad you have. Apple gives a unique model number to each iPad generation when it’s made. There are two ways to find the iPad model number. Both methods are detailed below:
Methos 1: Look at the back of your iPad
The easiest way to find the model number is on the back of your iPad. Just flip your iPad and look below the Apple logo, you’ll see the model number. That’s your iPad’s model number.
Method 2: Using the Settings App
If for some reason you can’t see the number clearly or don’t want to remove the iPad cover or stand, you can find it in the iPad settings. It’s also simple to identify the iPad model number. Here’s how:
- Open the Settings app on your iPad and tap “General.”
- Tap on “About.”
- Here, you’ll see the Model Name and Model Number tabs.
- The Model Name will tell you the name and generation of your iPad.
Note: Remember that multiple iPad units can have the same model name. So, it’s not unique to each iPad.
