- Your iPhone should be updated to iOS 17 or a later version.
- You need a Live Photo to create this sticker.
Live stickers let you turn any object from your photo into a PNG by removing the background. It’s like lifting an object from your image and turning it into an emoji for sharing in iMessage and other social media. This feature is coming with the iOS 17 update.
In this guide, I’ll show you how to create live stickers on your iPhone, edit them, and add effects.
What Effects Can You Add to Live Sticker?
You can add the following effects to your live stickers:
- Original: No effect added.
- Outline: Adds an attractive outline.
- Comic: Turns it into a comic avatar.
- Puffy: Adds an embossed effect and makes it 3D.
- Shiny: Adds a rainbow effect.

How to Enable Live Stickers on iPhone Keyboard
If you want to add live stickers to your keyboard, you need to enable stickers for the keyboard. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open the “Settings” app. Tap on “General.”
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on “Keyboard”.
Step 3: Go to the “EMOJI” section. Turn on the “Stickers” toggle.
Where Can You Use Live Stickers?
Currently, you can only use stickers in the Messages app, but in the future, they may be supported by third-party apps like Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, and others. Also, if you use multiple Apple devices, Live Stickers sync across all of them. That means any Live Stickers you create on your iPhone will be available on your Mac running macOS Sonoma or later and iPad running iPadOS 17 or newer.
